Our beautifully landscaped grounds offer a magnificent outdoor setting for your wedding ceremony. The picturesque views of the golf course, clock tower, and waterfall are also the perfect scenic backdrop for your wedding photographs. Our elegant and spacious ballroom can accommodate large wedding receptions of up to 180 guests, as well as more intimate celebrations.

Great River is conveniently located off of the Merritt Parkway and I-95 in Milford, CT for wedding guests traveling throughout Connecticut and across New England. Out-of-town guests can take advantage of the many hotels in proximity to the venue.

Wedding Ceremony
Hold your outdoor ceremony at our gazebo overlooking the picturesque golf course. We’ll coordinate your ceremony rehearsal prior to your big day and you’ll receive day-of access to our private, luxurious dressing and lounge areas for you and your wedding party. Your ceremony will be flawless at our elegant wedding venue!
The beautifully landscaped grounds, waterfall, barn doors, and clock tower are favorites to feature in your memorable photographs.
Wedding Reception
Host your cocktail hour on one of our beautiful outdoor patios and enjoy the gorgeous views of the golf course and Housatonic River. Your reception takes place in our unique ballroom with high, vaulted ceilings, an elegant chandelier, and exquisitely draped tall windows. The neutral color palette of our private event space complements any style and color you may wish to choose for your wedding.
Cuisine
A wedding reception at Great River Golf Club is a five-hour long, once-in-a-lifetime celebration for you and your guests to enjoy. A cocktail hour with two stationed and six passed hors d’oeuvres is followed by a specialty salad course, four entrée choices to offer your guests, and tiered wedding cake. We offer a wide variety of enhancements to customize your wedding to exactly the way you’ve imagined it. A private menu preview in our restaurant will build the excitement as you taste everything from your personally selected menu! Special dietary needs and allergies are easily met and handled by our chef.
Beverages
A five-hour full-service open bar is included and accompanied with a custom signature drink, champagne toast, and stationed coffees and teas.

We host weddings all year and each season is as beautiful as the next. The dramatic driveway entrance blossoms in the spring, the summer brings manicured greens, classic New England foliage appears in the fall, and the club decorates above and beyond for the winter holidays. Our covered outdoor brick Breezeway serves as a perfect backup location for your ceremony and cocktail hour in the event of inclement weather. Even when the sun is shining, some couples choose this as their ceremony location instead of the gazebo! Sometimes “Plan B” is just as good as “Plan A”! It's hard to beat the views overlooking the golf course and Housatonic River.
